Raven Direct
Institutional Credit Intelligence for Corporate Credit

Raven is the AI platform for Corporate Credit, purpose-built for banks, private credit firms, CLO managers, and institutional lenders and investors. Built for credit, not adapted for it.

Raven Direct brings Raven's credit intelligence into Claude, connecting you to the deals, analysis, and source documents in your Raven account.

Through Raven Direct, ask Claude to draw on Raven's credit analysis to review deals, evaluate financial performance, examine leverage and capital structure, summarize loan terms and covenants, compare borrowers, and identify risks.

Raven's semantic credit layer and agentic framework organize evidence, apply specialized credit logic and firm conventions, and produce structured, reusable analysis. Its sourcing and audit framework makes conclusions traceable to underlying documents and supports verification.

Unlike standalone AI responses, Raven builds institutional credit intelligence over time. Raven keeps a persistent record of analysis, supporting evidence, and credit history. This allows users to query their own credit data across deals and portfolios, compare exposures, spot trends, and reuse prior analysis without starting over.

Raven Direct makes this institutional credit intelligence accessible through Claude, extending what credit teams can accomplish.
A Raven account is required. Users can access only information they are authorized to see.

What you need
  • A Raven account. Raven Direct uses your existing Raven sign-in. To get an account, contact info@ravenri.ai.
  • A Claude plan that supports connectors and plugins. Raven Direct works in Claude on the web and desktop, in Cowork, and in Claude Code.

Connect Raven Direct
Raven Direct comes as a plugin (Raven's credit intelligence) that includes the Raven Direct connector (the secure connection to your Raven account). We recommend installing the plugin to access Raven's full capabilities.
  1. In Claude, open Customize → Plugins → Discover. Find Raven Direct and select Add.
  2. Open the plugin's Connectors tab and select Connect next to Raven Direct.
  3. Sign in through Raven's secure authentication page using your existing Raven credentials. Complete multi-factor authentication if required.

That's it. Ask Claude about one of your deals, for example: "Run an initial deal review on Project Y."

Other ways to connect
  • Connector only. To use Raven's tools without the plugin's skills, open Customize → Connectors, find Raven Direct, and select Connect.
  • Team and Enterprise plans. Organization administrators can make Raven Direct available to members or install the plugin by default. Each user authenticates with their own Raven account and can access only information they are authorized to see.
  • Claude Code. Install the Raven Direct plugin from the plugin directory. The connector is included; run /mcp and select Raven Direct to authenticate in your browser. Run a skill by name, for example, /raven-direct:screening-initial-deal-review.
  • Already connected? If you connected Raven Direct before installing the plugin, leave it connected. If you see duplicate tools after installing, contact info@ravenri.ai.

What Raven Direct can do

Raven Direct connects Claude to the Raven platform. Ask in plain language and Claude works directly with the deals, analysis, financial models, dashboards, and source documents in your Raven account, without you navigating the Raven application.

It supports the credit lifecycle from first screen through underwriting and financial and legal analysis. Create deals, upload documents, start analysis, search and read source documents, review results, build reports and models, and work across your portfolio. Everything draws on the same credit intelligence as the Raven platform.

You can also go beyond Raven's own workflows. Through Claude and Cowork, combine Raven's intelligence with your own analysis, research, and information from other connected tools.

Ready-made credit skills

On top of the connector, Raven provides more than 50 specialized credit skills, organized around established credit workflows, from an initial deal review to a credit assessment memo. Skills give consistent, repeatable output on common tasks. You are not limited to them: you can ask Claude anything Raven's data supports, adapt workflows to your firm's standards and templates, and build your own skills.

Credit workflows and capabilities
  • Screening: initial deal reviews, first screen memos, merits and risks, diligence priorities, management assessments, and credit assessments.
  • Financial and structural analysis: financial performance, EBITDA and capitalization, leverage, loan coverage, projections, debt maturities, interest rate exposure, and earnings quality.
  • Company and industry diligence: business models, industry structure, competition, customer and supplier risks, barriers to entry, peer analysis, and AI-related business risks.
  • Loan terms and legal review: credit agreement extraction, key definitions, covenant testing, basket capacity, loan returns, and comparisons across agreements.
  • Portfolio analysis: compare deals, screen leverage, and review closed deals across your Raven portfolio.

A persistent credit record

Raven's semantic credit layer and agentic framework apply consistent credit conventions, organize supporting evidence, and make analysis traceable to the underlying documents.

Raven keeps the analysis, evidence, and credit history for each deal. It is available to authorized team members and reusable across future underwriting work.

Tour of the Raven platform

Raven Direct works from the same deals and analysis you see in the Raven application. The screens below come from sample deals and follow a credit from document upload to memo, showing where each step lives in Raven. In Claude, you can ask for the same results in plain language, for example, "Run an initial deal review on Project Y."

1. Upload deal documents
Add the lender presentation, financial statements, credit agreement, and other diligence documents to a deal, then start the diligence analysis. Raven organizes the documents by type and shows when the analysis is ready to view.
2. Go deeper in Diligence
Raven organizes its credit analysis into a set of reads, from key merits and risks through company, industry, competition, financial analysis, projections, market risk, technology risk, and diligence priorities. External intelligence adds peer selection and peer analysis. Financial Analysis shows the full EBITDA reconciliation from reported to adjusted figures, with firm adjustments that you can edit.
3. Review loan terms
In the Structure section, Loan Terms set out each facility field by field, such as amount, term and pricing, with every figure linked to the document page it came from. Loan Returns sits alongside.
4. Review a Credit Assessment and Scorecards
The Assessment section is where Raven turns the diligence into a credit view. It scores the credit on eight factors: business quality, cash flow durability, customer concentration, earnings quality, collateral coverage, leverage, management and sponsor, and headwinds and tailwinds. Each factor is rated on a four-point scale, and the ratings average into a composite score. A factor the data room can't support is marked "More Diligence Required" and left out of the average instead of being counted as a middle value. The drivers behind every rating are one click away. The assessment also carries a preliminary recommendation and the key metrics to watch. In Claude, ask for the credit assessment, or for the full credit assessment memo as a Word document.
5. Create custom memos
Memos builds credit memos from Raven's analysis and exports them as Word documents, and the Deal Review as a PowerPoint deck.
Results you can keep

Results come back in the conversation. Many skills also offer a Word document or an Excel workbook, built inside Claude. You can also ask Claude for a download link to Raven's own files: a report or memo as Word (the Deal Review as PowerPoint), a financial model as Word, a dashboard as Word or its charts as PowerPoint, or the deal's documents.

Example prompts
  • Initial Deal Review: the first structured read on a new deal. Try "Run an initial deal review on Project Y."
  • Top 5 Merits and Risks: the strongest reasons to do the deal and not to, with mitigants. Try "What are the top five merits and risks on Project Y?"
  • Diligence Gaps: what is still missing, rated, with the ask that closes each. Try "What diligence gaps are still open on Project Y?"
  • Quick Screen: a fast term sheet and at-close capital structure. Try "Give me a quick screen of the terms on Project Y."
  • EBITDA and Cap Table: the anchored EBITDA, its derivation, and the opening capital structure. Try "Build the opening capital structure and EBITDA bridge for Project Y."
  • Customer Diligence: who the customers are, how concentrated, and why they stay. Try "Who are Project Y's customers, and how concentrated are they?"
  • Quality of Earnings Review: how each adjustment holds up. Try "Does the quality of earnings report support Project Y's adjusted EBITDA?"
  • Test Covenants: the covenant package tested against a scenario, with an EBITDA breakeven. Try "Test the covenants on Project Y against the base case."
  • Key Definitions: the credit agreement's defined terms and protections, in plain language. Try "What are the key definitions and creditor protections in the Project Y credit agreement?"
  • Compare Loan Agreements: terms compared across up to four deals. Try "Compare the credit agreements for Project Y and Project Z."
  • Credit Assessment Memo: the eight-factor scorecard and rating as a Word document. Try "Give me a credit assessment memo for Project Y."
  • Deal Compare: two deals side by side as a PDF. Try "Compare Project Y and Project Z side by side as a PDF."

What Raven Direct reads and what it can change
It reads your deals, their documents, Raven's analysis and dashboards, financial models, reports and memos, and audit history, for what your Raven account can access.

It can change things in Raven only when you ask. It can:
  • create a deal
  • upload documents to a deal
  • start Raven's analysis of a deal
  • suggest a peer set, and confirm one (which starts the peer analysis)
  • create, edit, rename or delete a report or memo
  • create, edit, rename or delete a financial model
  • apply your firm's underwriting thresholds to an Underwriting Checklist

Most of these give you a link to confirm the change in Raven before anything is saved. Suggesting or confirming a peer set and applying underwriting thresholds save directly when you ask; a threshold change is kept in the report's history, so it can be undone.

Troubleshooting
Sign-in fails or the sign-in window doesn't open. Allow pop-ups for claude.ai, then select Connect again. Use the same email and password you use for the Raven web app. If you can sign in to Raven but not here, contact info@ravenri.ai.

Claude says it can't find any deals. Raven Direct shows the deals your Raven account can access. If your company has no deals in Raven yet, or your login belongs to a different company in Raven, the list is empty. Check in the Raven web app, or ask your Raven administrator.

Claude says the analysis hasn't run yet. Most skills need Raven's analysis of the deal's documents. Ask Claude to "start the analysis on [deal]" or start it in the Raven web app, then try again once it shows as ready. Documents uploaded since the last analysis are not included until it runs again.

A confirmation or download link has expired. Links to confirm a change expire after 15 minutes, and download links for a deal's documents after 5 minutes. Ask Claude again to get a new link.

The plugin's skills don't seem to work. The skills need the Raven Direct connector. Open the plugin's Connectors tab and check that Raven Direct shows as connected.

Disconnect, or switch to a different Raven account. Open Customize, then Connectors, select Raven Direct and choose Disconnect. Connect again to sign in with another account. In Claude Code, run /mcp, select Raven Direct and clear its authentication.

Data and privacy
  • Raven Direct reads and changes data only in your Raven account, signed in as you, and only for the deals your account can access. Your deal data stays in your company's Raven account under your agreement with Raven.

  • The plugin itself stores no data. It contains instructions for Claude, document templates and the connector's address.

  • The plugin's skills call only the Raven Direct connector. If you combine Raven with other tools you have connected in Claude, that is your choice, and those tools are governed by their own terms.

  • For support and usage reporting, Raven Direct logs each request: which tool was used, who used it and their company, the deal, the time it took and whether it succeeded. It does not log your questions, search terms, document content or results. Our servers also keep technical logs, such as IP addresses, for 30 days to operate and secure the service.

  • Results you see become part of your Claude conversation, which Anthropic handles under your agreement with Anthropic.
